From Kingston to Catskill, NY

Today was a great day for traveling, cool and a breeze that felt really good since we have been having some very warm weather. It was only a short day, about 24 miles. All tied in at the new dock by 1200 noon. We passed several cement plants with loading facilities for loading big ships. There is lots of other industry as well. The river is starting to get narrower, but the depth is still good. One must stay between the markers and pay a little more attention to the charts. We found a couple more lighthouses. The marina has a pool and it is open and Bobby is ready to injoy the water. I have been working on teaching him to tie some knots. The bowline and the figure eight. Also to cleat a line to a dock. He even taught Grandma how to tie a bowline.

We are staying here till Monday as Lois's Brother, Tom is coming for Bobby. Very nice little town, they have a contest to see who can decorate cats and we enclosed 2 of our favorites. Bobby is busy tying knots and does the bowline all the time.

Wow! Neat cats! Harrisburg had cows, North Carolina has ponies, and Catskill NY has Cats:) I guess Bobby will be looking for some rope when he arrives home. The haircut looks good, Grandpa. Looks like Grandma has been insistent with the sunscreen too as no one is lobster red. Buster, Daddy and I will see you on Sunday, Bobby! We'll meet you in Binghamtom, NY. Have fun in the pool! Splash Grandpa for us!

Hi!

Looks like you are having fun. Did you get your a/c controller working?

We will be off the internet for awhile. We leave in the early am for Elmira. Maybe I'll try to call you from our cellphone while we are on the road tomorrow.

Love, Betty

Hi Lois and Bob,

That was such a nice thank you card. I read it to the Flotilla on Tuesday 6-10 and I gave Ken his birthday card that night for you.

I have been keeping up with your blog. The pictures are beautiful. I am so excited to read about your adventures.

I am living vicariously through both of you, I can only hope to be able to make such a trip.

Take care, I will be watching and leaving comments.

Love Mandy
